2013 Langhorne Creek Reserve Shiraz

TASTING NOTE:  Intense ripe spicy cherry fruit which continues on the palate. Fine grain tannins and a subtle fruit finish which lingers just enough to make you want more.

GROWING: The grapes for this blend were selected from prime vineyards Langhorne Creek. It has a maritime influence which moderates the climate. The Shiraz wines from here are quite austere and tightly structured which age immaculately well into rich, intensely flavoured wines.

WINE MAKING: Shiraz has been a focus for the winemaking team in recent years and our very best Shiraz was selected for this single vineyard wine. We made this wine using small open fermenters and gave it the attention it deserved by hand plunging the cap to extract the maximum flavour from the skins. The result is intense fruit flavours and soft supple tannins. These characteristics have been complemented by oak maturation, which has further increased the complexity of the wine.

AGEING: This wine is good to drink now but will age well for 10 years.
