GROWING The grapes for this blend were selected from prime vineyards in Langhorne Creek in South Australia. This region has deep fertile soils and has a maritime influence which moderates the climate. WINE MAKING Shiraz has been a focus for the winemaking team in recent years and our best batches of Shiraz were selected for this blend. We aimed for intense fruit flavours and soft supple tannins. These characteristics have been complemented by oak maturation, which has further increased the complexity of the wine. This is a uniquely Australian style, which is dominated by rich berry aromas and has a full warm palate. The grapes were fermented in overhead red fermenters with remontage to allow for colour and flavour extraction from the skins. This contributes to the apparent up front fruit aromas. The resulting wine is rich in berry fruit and spicy aromas with a subtle oak flavour which adds elegance.
